My very own Engagement Ring - The whole story

On 11th December 2021 Edd proposed to me at Old Harrys Rock in Dorset, our home of exactly one year, with 3 loose salt and pepper oval diamonds he had sourced on his own.

After asking around for what my dream ring would be - no easy feat for the boyfriend of a jewellery designer/maker and considering what he also liked he decided a 'trilogy' style was perfect and for me he knew it had to be salt and pepper diamonds.

The Challenge was then down to me to create the ring. I was so desperate to be able to wear it, but knew I wanted to get the design absolutely perfect and something I would love and wear forever.
I knew I wanted something timeless, something that was recognise-ably design by me and yellow gold. I also wanted Edd to love the ring.

I opted for 9ct yellow after looking at different options, its just a beautiful antique hue of colour and for me you cant beat it. I also chose to have a scattering of diamonds around the band to match my wedding ring eventually.

The ring was drawn up by Jewelcast on CAD and then cast. I textured the band to create a more organic looking texture and finish, something that has since inspired a lot of new ideas and plans :) I was somehow braver to try things on my own ring.

Time to Set the stones,
This ring will forever be so so special to me, the stones chosen by Edd, Designed together and made by me. Something I will never forget
